Folders of unnamed images and hard-to-read hand written notes equate to wasted time and money especially if the person processing the data is not the same person who collected it. Project Surveyor allows collected data to be reviewed in real time and can force the surveyor to follow a strict protocol which immensely improves the quality and consistency of collected data however many companies have already invested in PDF or Excel forms that are familiar to the staff. With Project Surveyor the user can create a user dialog with the proper options to fill out the data on the existing form. The surveyor will be required to enter valid data and at the completion of the survey the program will generate a completed PDF or Excel form.
Example: (Complete existing Form)
Company X has been using the below Excel survey form for the past 10 years. Employees print off copies of this document, fill them out by hand, and compile all the forms when they finish with the survey.
In filling out the form the surveyor has made unclear marks, errors, and has omitted critical information:
Using an input dialog form in Project Surveyor the user is prompted when attempting to skip the input of required information or when attempting to input invalid information. GPS coordinates and time & date are entered automatically and commonly repeated items such as the POC or address can be selected from a drop down menu.
After completing all information the surveyor may then click “Print Form” which will generate a new Excel file will all the information completed electronically. If enabled this file will be uploaded to a server where other staff may view or use the information in accordance with the company’s existing procedures.
Output to Cloud Storage:
The raw project file can optionally be uploaded to OneDrive, Sharepoint, Google Drive or any other cloud based service that allows automatic file sharing. These files can be opened with another copy of Project Surveyor on a remote desktop or laptop or processed by a companion application.
