Project Surveyor utilizes an open template for survey forms allowing the user to define the type of information to be collected. This allows the highest degree of flexibility when it comes to collecting data across a variety of different data types and environments. Anything from a one day survey of existing infrastructure to a survey that encompasses hundreds of buildings over several months with teams of surveyors. To make getting started easier we offer several editable templates:
- Drawings & Notes
- Perfect for a small survey or one with many unknowns. Import existing drawings or create one in the field using a fire escape plan or the drawing editor. Take notes, pictures, videos, or audio narratives all while adding symbols to the drawings
- Closed Circuit Television (CCTV ) / Security Cameras
- View and edit a common checklist of CCTV Items
- Browse the database of existing CCTV equipment and augment with your own
- Utilize the existing CCTV symbols database to add individual or groups of symbols to the drawing
- Equipment associated with the symbols is automatically added to the Bill of Materials
- Access Control System (ACS)
- View and edit a common checklist of Access Control Items
- Browse the provided typical door templates, edit if needed then simply drag and drop onto drawings to add a new door
- Panel templates may also be associated to a door. For example the enclosure, controller, battery, I/O cards, etc
- Equipment associated with the symbols is automatically added to the Bill of Materials
- Intrusion Detection System (IDS) / Alarm System
- View and edit a common checklist of Intrusion Detection / Alarm System Items
- Browse the provided typical door templates, edit if needed then simply drag and drop on the drawings to add a new door
- Panel templates may also be associated to a door. For example the enclosure, controller, battery, I/O cards, etc
- Equipment associated with the symbols is automatically added to the Bill of Materials
- Building Automation System (BAS)
- View and edit a common checklist of Building Automation Systems
- Browse the provided templates for PLC’s, controllers, lighting contactors, etc.
- Panel templates may also be built for PLC’s
- Equipment associated with the symbols is automatically added to the Bill of Materials
- Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC)
- View and edit a common checklist of HVAC components
- Browse the provided templates for PTAC units, roof top units, boilers, chillers, control systems, etc
- Unit templates may also be built for any packaged system
- Equipment associated with the symbols is automatically added to the Bill of Materials
- Industrial Control System / SCADA Systems
- Browse the existing schematic symbols or add your own
- Import an existing schematic template, drag and drop common components and hand draw connections
- Fire Alarm System
- View and edit a common checklist of Fire Alarm Systems

User Levels:
Project Surveyor is adaptable to the skill level of the user from highly skilled engineers or experienced managers to the unskilled laborers used for large scale surveys.Project Surveyor offers configurable user rights from full administrative privileges to restricting access to everything except Project Surveyor and guiding the user in a very structured manner.
Power user:
- Administrator privileges on the host PC
- Freedom to edit the survey template on the go and skip or bypass required items
- Push templates, edits or changes to other user tablets in a group
- Access files on another tablet
- Access files on remote servers or cloud storage
Restricted user:
- Limited privileges to the host PC. May optionally be configured to lock out web browers, allow only specific website prevent closing Project Surveyor, etc.
- The surveyor must follow a strict input format. If the data is invalid an error message will require the user to input valid data before proceeding to the next step
- Managers may closely monitor the survey duration and time spent at each location ( using GPS coordinates)
- Users are required to login with an account to provide a means of accountability when reviewing collected data
