Project Surveyor
Project Surveyor is a field survey data collection and management application developed for Microsoft Windows® 10 touch screen tablets. Although it was developed for Windows 10 tablets it fully supports Windows: 7, 8, 8.1 ,10 laptops and desktop computers. Project Surveyor has been tested on low and high end tablets and works well on even sub $100 Windows® 10 tablets. Expensive hardware has previously made Windows® tablets cost prohibitive compared to other applications developed for less expensive Android® or IOS tablets. Running on Windows® allows Project Surveyor to seamlessly integrate with your existing Windows office applications such as Office, OneDrive and Sharepoint.
Project Surveyor can be used for stand-alone data collection on a single tablet or integrate with other tablets, servers and colleagues around the world. For example a CAD technician at the home office can retrieve completed DXF or image files from OneDrive or Sharepoint and manipulate them into a design package as soon as they are uploaded from the field. Managers can track the overall progress of a project including total equipment and cost using companion applications.
Where to use:
- Closed Circuit Television (CCTV ) / Security Cameras
- Access Control System (ACS)
- Intrusion Detection System (IDS) / Alarm System
- Building Automation System (BAS)
- Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC)
- Industrial Control System / SCADA Systems
- Fire Alarm System
- Utility Metering and Control Systems (UMCS)
- Custom Surveys
Integrated with Drawings:
- Populate an existing drawing file, an existing image file, create a new drawing from a picture of a fire escape plan or use the built-in editor to create a hand drawing
- Drawings can be exported in DXF format for easy integration with CAD software
- Conveniently drag and drop device symbols on the floor plan. Edit device properties, create device templates or copy the device settings to all remaining devices in a drawing
- A Bill of Materials is automatically generated based on devices placed on a floor plan
- Images taken during the survey using the tablet camera are associated with the project and optionally to a device. For example a door can be associated with images taken of the existing door. Simply click on that icon on the floor plan to see all images taken of that particular door
Images & Recordings:
- GPS coordinates are recorded at the start of each survey
- GPS coordinates, survey name, zone location, etc. are stored to the metadata of each image
- Images are part of the total survey package or may be exported as stand-alone images with all the metadata intact
- Video and audio recordings may also be associated to devices or exported as stand-alone files with metadata intact
Output Options:
- Complete existing company PDF or Excel forms
- Create and populate custom PDF or Excel forms
- Save to the local hard drive where the user may update or edit survey data at the end of the day
- Compatible with OneDrive and other cloud based services
- Survey data is uploaded automatically or by the user to either the cloud or a server at the user’s location
- With an LTE or wireless connection, survey data may be processed in real time by CAD technicians or other support staff at the company head quarters
Security:
Project Surveyor offers several levels of encryption to balance performance and security. Three main security options are offered:
- Heavy (Slowest Performance): All project files and local database items are encrypted
- Medium : Only project files are encrypted
- Light (Best Performance): Project files are password protected. Passwords may be optionally encrypted
Supported Encryption:
- AES
- DES
- RC2
- Rijindael
- TripleDES
